3 New Oreo Flavors | Taste Testing Them All
Did you know that there are three new Oreo flavors available? Today, I’m going to try each one, then decide which is the best new Oreo flavor!

And you’ll want to stick around till the end where I’ll reveal the wildest flavor and give my final pick for the best cookie and the best ice cream topper.
I’m Allison with Simple Fantastic Kitchen. You can watch my detailed video below or read on for the full experience!
Oreo already makes so many different fun cookie flavors. Like Mint, Lemon, Birthday Cake, Peanut Butter and so many more. There’s even options for zero sugar and gluten-free cookies.
Personally, I love to use traditional Oreos in my homemade vanilla ice cream. So, when I heard that they had three new limited edition flavors, I just had to try them as a standalone cookie and then also as an ice cream topper.
3 New Oreo Flavors | Banana Pudding Oreo
So, what is the first new flavor? Banana pudding Oreo. First of all, it’s a really cute cookie. It’s got two different colors inside of it: a banana yellow color and then also a white color which would be the traditional Oreo cream filling.
As a cookie, I really like it. But if you are not a fan of bananas, this cookie is not for you. I mean, it seems pretty obvious in the title, but sometimes you have a banana flavoring and it’s not really intensely banana, if that makes sense. This is pretty intensely banana flavored. So, if you are a fan of bananas, you’re going to love this. And if you’re not, just steer clear.
I would say I really like bananas. So, to me, this is absolutely delicious.
Now, we’re going to try the banana pudding Oreo as a topper on the vanilla ice cream.
You know what? It’s really good. It’s a really subtle second flavor. The banana is almost like a bit of an aftertaste and a bit of a kick at the end rather than being so intense as when it’s just a cookie by itself. This is lovely.
How to Easily Crush Oreos Into a Topping
By the way, you can make Oreos into a topping by chopping them with a knife.
Or putting them into a Ziploc bag to crush them. You can try it with a rolling pin. I found that when you use a rolling pin, the cream really separates more than with other cookies you might do. So, it’s not my recommendation to use a rolling pin with Oreos, but instead to use something that’s more of a blunt instrument, something like a meat pounder or tenderizer. inside of a ziploc bag so that you can do it without the mess.
And then you want to crush it a little bit by hand afterwards just to get that final crumble. Then you just put it on top of your ice cream and you’re ready to go.
3 New Oreo Flavors | Deep Fried Oreo
Now, let’s try our second flavor, deep fried Oreo. But before we taste these, I have to ask, have you ever tried a real deep fried Oreo? I recently tried one for the very first time and let me tell you, they are absolutely delicious.
They are made by dipping each Oreo into a type of specialized pancake batter. Once they are completely coated, they are deep fried in oil for less than a minute total, about 30 seconds on each side. They have to cool for less than a minute. Then they are coated with powdered sugar and served to perfection. Shout out to Albert and Denise from Hilltop Churros who made these incredible deep fried Oreos for us. And they were kind enough to show us how they made them. It’s a really cool process.
Now that we’ve had the real deal, does this cookie actually taste like deep fried Oreos? Let’s find out.
Okay, first of all, this cookie is actually thicker than the other new cookies available because it just has more packed inside of it. I’m assuming that inside is sort of your traditional Oreo flavors and then the outside cookie is going to be more like the deep fried batter. That’s my assumption. Let’s check it out.
These cookies are really, really nice. Look, you’re never going to have an exact deep fried Oreo unless you have an actual deep fried Oreo, okay? But this is a really nice replica and they are getting the flavors of sort of the pancake batter dough and the Oreo inside of it.
It’s actually kind of a subtle taste. I mean relative to the banana pudding which was a really really banana taste. This is a much more subtle taste. They’ve done a really nice job with this. It’s really delicious as a standalone cookie for sure.
Now we’re going to try the deep fried Oreo as a topping on top of vanilla ice cream. This is really good. You know what? The dough flavor comes out a little bit more when it’s paired with ice cream. So, it becomes more of almost like a fried cookie dough ice cream, if that makes sense. It’s very interesting. It’s very delicious.
3 New Oreo Flavors | Chicken and Waffles Oreo
And now the flavor that we’ve all been waiting for. This is the third and final flavor, and it is Chicken and Waffles Oreo. Honestly, this is a super wild flavor for a cookie. It’s a real big swing against the fence. It could be that perfect blend of salty and sweet. Let’s taste it.
Okay, I really like this. It’s not overwhelmingly fried chicken tasting. It’s more like the crust or breading of a fried chicken. You know how there’s that salty crust / breading? It’s sort of like they’ve combined that with maple syrup and waffle dough flavoring and it’s really quite lovely.
Let’s see how the Chicken and Waffles Oreo fares as a topper for vanilla ice cream.
This is really delicious. This is lovely. It’s really that perfect salty and sweet.
I would say it is the most dominant taste of the three cookies, interestingly enough, on the vanilla ice cream. I’m not sure why that is. It is a more dominant flavor, but it’s absolutely delicious. And that saltiness with the sweet, it’s a nice kick.
3 New Oreo Flavors | Final Review
So, what is my final review? My favorite new Oreo cookie flavor is chicken and waffle. Now, this is not everybody’s taste, but this is my taste. It’s really that perfect salty and sweet for me. I loved this as a cookie. I thought it was absolutely wonderful.
And my favorite new Oreo flavor to go with ice cream is Deep Fried Oreo. I thought this paired so beautifully with the ice cream. It just had almost a cookie dough flavor to it, but a deep fried Oreo cookie dough flavor. I’m a huge fan of cookie dough ice cream. So, for me, this was amazing.
I want you to also know that my husband tried all of these combinations. And his favorite hands down was the Banana Pudding Oreo and the Banana Pudding as a topper on ice cream. So, if banana is for you, oh my gosh, the Banana Pudding Oreo is going to be your favorite. You’re going to love it. You’re absolutely going to love it.
Variations on Oreo Cookies and Cream Ice Cream Recipes
And remember, if you’re churning your own ice cream, you can add in any one of these3 New Oreo Flavors as a crumble during the churning phase.
So, you can make a new variation on what an Oreo Cookies and Cream ice cream really is. You could make it a Banana Pudding type of a taste to an Oreo cookies and cream ice cream.. or any of the other flavors. You can really have fun with this.
And by the way, I’m used the KitchenAid Ice Cream Maker Attachment to make my homemade Cookies and Cream Ice Cream. Here is my full review and tutorial of how to use it:
